Greetings from San Diego
The Greetings Tour
with
Victor Ving, artist
and
Lisa Beggs, photographer
Greetings Tour creates timeless landmarks through public art. Using their classic letter postcard style, they collaborate with communities to create meaningful murals that seamlessly weave together local culture, history, landmarks and nature.
In 2015, muralist Victor Ving and photographer Lisa Beggs packed their entire lives into an RV to create their artwork on the road, full time. Since then, they have worked with over 70 communities across 30 states to paint their modern-day postcard attractions. Their nationwide project has the unique ability to attract tourism and providing support to nearby small business. They are still touring part time though now based in Pasadena, California.
Muralist, Victor Ving is a former NYC graffiti artist who now utilizes his street art experience to create public murals for local communities. He was the founder of Klughaus Gallery and operated a national mural agency for 8 years.
Photographer, Lisa Beggs was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. Upon graduating from Ohio Univeristy for commerical photography and dance, she moved to NYC where she began shooting photos. Lisa is known for her calming landscape nature photography.
Artist Victor Ving puts the finishing touches on a mural on Central Avenue. The mural pays homage to vintage "Greetings From" post cards and is part of the Greetings Tour with photographer, Lisa Beggs. The pair have created 32 murals in 16 states with a goal of creating one in every state. This is the first one in Kentucky. The pair were in Alaska before coming to Louisville. The building belongs to John and Mary Kay Dixon. The group, Often Seen Rarely Spoken also created some of the letters that depict the Louisville skyline, bourbon, Churchill Downs, Louisville Slugger, Louisville Cardinals and the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge.

Lisa and Victor
The Greetings Tour is a traveling mural project by mural artist Victor and Lisa. The artist duo has been traveling the United States by RV since 2015 creating postcard-inspired murals as destination landmarks.
"It's inspired by vintage postcards from the 1930s to 1950s that read 'Greetings From' which informs their project, Greetings Tour."
Using the classic large letter postcard style, the Greetings Tour works with communities to create colorful murals featuring local landmarks, history and culture. They have created murals in cities across the United States including Honolulu, Anchorage, Fargo, San Diego, New Orleans, El Paso, Chicago, Tucson, Moab Utah, Louisville, Bend Oregon and other cities. In 2019, they painted their first international mural in Bermuda.

To celebrate the completion of this 50 ft. x 75 ft. mural, Victor and Lisa hiked Diamond Head. This mural was painted on ground space that could be seen from guest rooms and the pool deck. In total, they used over 35 gallons of paint to cover 3,750 sq. ft. of floor space! The mural can be viewed by the public from the Swell Bar on the 5th floor of the hotel or from the guest rooms above.

When Victor and Lisa passed through this city in Arizona they knew it would be the perfect for a Greetings Tour mural. They found Miller's Surplus owned by George Landa and quickly realized how friendly all the Tucson locals are while creating this mural.

Crossing into Tennessee from Arkansas, Victor and Lisa have officially traveled to every State in the lower 48 together in their RV! The owners of Nothing Too Fancy reached out to them about getting a Greetings mural on their screen print shop back in 2015 when they first started the tour. With the generous support of Visit Knoxville, they were able to finally make this project happen in 2017. Measuring 31' wide and 19' tall, this mural was the second largest mural they have worked on after painting a mural in Waterbury, CT.
"From the day we signed the lease on the building for our print shop, we knew we wanted to bring a mural from Greetings From Tour to our city. We reached out to Victor and Lisa a year prior and with the help of Visit Knoxville we were able to finally make it happen! We love to see the public interacting with this mural in such creative ways. We'll always see fresh faces at the mural doing some kind of photo shoot and we see their photos all over social media. We're happy the local take pride in the artwork and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of this timeless artwork."
Lisa Cyr, Nothing Too Fancy Print Shop Co-Owner
Their good friend came down from New York to lend some assistance on the mural because of a tight timeline. They thank this friend for doing an amazing job on the "l" (Sunsphere) and the "L" (Tennessee Theatre sign). Luckily, they painted right next to an awesome coffee shop, K Brew who kept them fueled for the 9 days it took to complete this mural work. They really hope this project opens up the opportunity for other mural projects in Knoxville!
"The Greetings from Knoxville mural next door to our coffee shop attracts people to come take photos all day long. It's led to a lot of added traffic and fresh faces at our business. The artwork has become an ironic landmark for North Knoxville and we're so happy tht it's right next door!
Pierce LaMacchia, CEO K Brew
"Visit Knoxville was thrilled to partner with Greetings From Tour on our Greeting From Knoxvlle mural. Victor and Lisa worked with us to ensure every element we hope to see included was done so in the best possible way. The mural has become one of Knoxville's most popular photo op destinations, drawing visitors and locals alike."

Mural painted in 2015 in Ohio City.
Lisa was born and raised not far away in Canton, Ohio so Cleveland was a second home to her growing up. It was an honor for Victor to paint such an impactful community art piece to serve as an image of local pride. This Cleveland mural opened up many opportunities for Victor and Lisa in the State of Ohio. They now have more murals in Ohio than any other State in America! They say .. "Thank you Cleveland!"

Chicago, Illinois
This was Victor and Lisa's first mural (officially on the road) and it turned out to be one of our most popular murals, to date. They did some hunting for walls around Logan Square and landed on this location with the help of a local artist. When they first painted at that location, nothing else was surrounding their mural. However, the neighborhood is now completely covered with other murals and street art. It has been heartwarming for them to see the spread of more and more murals in and around Logan Square.
Looking back, it is amazing to see how far Victor and Lisa's project has come since the Greetings from Chicago mural. They really owe it to that first mural for jumpstarting their mission and providing so much opportunity.
Lisa photographs the content from their travels and relevant images that go into the mural designs. Victor paints the images using spray paint and latex. Their goal is to paint a mural in every state and then take the project to an international level. In April 2020, the artists announced a yearly grant to donate a mural back to community-oriented organizations and those impacted financially by the COVID-19 pandemic.
