Crystal Beach Yacht and Tennis Club

Now a gated community called Crystal Beach Yacht and Tennis Club has occupied the land since 1992 where the amusement park once stood for 101 years.  The concrete pier and seawall remain part of the complex, today and a housing development called South Coast Village has occupied the park's former parking lot since 2016.  

I can't, but wonder if any residents of Crystal Beach today are left with a bad taste in their mouth regarding the park being gone and a gated community of upscale homes being put in its place. A park that once had open gates for all to enjoy is now a community with closed gates for perhaps only the rich and the famous.  I do hope some residents have at least one framed photo of the amusement park displayed in their home to remind them every day, thanks to this historical plaque, what has been lost to the ages though .. the memory lingers on.
